SJF Counselling
The most important part of therapy is working as a team, having a clear idea of what you are wanting to achieve and creating a plan of how to go about that. We will review your referral, explore the current issues affecting your mental health and what you are hoping to achieve. Steve will describe the different types of therapies that he can offer and how many sessions might be required. There are also other options such as telehealth or phone consultation if one or both of us is unable to attend face to face appointments.
Initial fees for adults and children are $140 (50 minutes) the same cost applies for ongoing appointments and the Medicare Rebate is $81.90 (face to face and telehealth). I will manage your rebate which is claimed via my client case management system so nothing for you to do except bring your MHTP and Medicare card with you. Your refund will be deposited into your allocated account.
Couples counselling - This is not available via Medicare. I happy to discuss a plan of action to support both parties and the charge per couple session is $180 for 60 minutes.
Medicare: Medicare provides rebates which subsidize most of the fee charged. Medicare rebates are ONLY available when a Mental Health Care Plan and referral are in place prior to attending appointments. A Mental Health Care Plan and referral from a GP entitles the referred person to a maximum of 6 initial rebates. An additional 4 rebates are available each calendar year. A new referral must be provided to enable additional Medicare rebates. Please bring your Medicare card to your first appointment.
Non-attendance without notification will incur a fee of $70 to be paid prior to attending future appointments. Please note that Medicare rebates are not available to cover non-attendance.
Payment on the day: please bring a valid credit/debit card on the day, I have a tap and pay device to tap or swipe.
Cash: please bring correct cash on the day and your rebate will be refunded to your Medicare linked account.
